Windows Tip: Disable DPI scaling

If you use Windows 8/8.1 on a high resolution screen, you can gain more screen real estate by disabling DPI scaling in Windows. To do so, go to the ‘Screen Resolution’ section under the Display option in the Windows Control Panel and click on the ‘Make text bigger or smaller’ link:

You will be taken to a new screen where you can adjust the DPI scaling options to the desired level by enabling the ‘Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays’ option (select 100% to disable DPI scaling).
